Before I replaced the CCM the car would blow through all the vents equally regardless of panel setting and it would get horribly hot very quickly regardless of the temperature set.

To remove the motors I simply used a screw driver torx bit alone, and turned it with a pliers from the side, used my hands once it got loose.Īll the flaps are now working fine with CCM replaced. You may get an SRS message but you have Vida to clear it. Check on the other side the arms are fine. Sometimes an arm moving the vent flap can break. You should be able to clearly hear the calibration working as it moves all flaps to find their end stops.

In hindsight it was probably a symptom of the failed CCM. I didn't know if that was due to a faulty damper or not. I did try the calibration option but it appeared to do nothing. I would have begun with a CCM calibration using Vida before buying any parts. AC gas pressure is in Vida as is remote activation of the compressor to see whether it's capable of engaging. I don't have the gear to test gas pressure etc so that will have to wait for another day. I'm guessing that doesn't trigger a fault code if there is no gas? Either that or I still have an issue. I then got a CCM unit with same part number off ebay and swapped circuit boards easier than trying to swap the different switches and The air con is still not firing up though. Alas, I still had the same fault code so it seemed likely to be a CCM fault. I bought a second hand damper motor with the same part number and after bit of a struggle access is hard managed to replace the motor. The terminology in VIDA was a bit inconsistent but the fault code referred to the first damper in the system the upper one of the three by drivers knee. Well its been a struggle but I think I have finally got to the bottom of this one. Can anyone advise if that is a general VIDA term for a fault in one of the damper motors or is it telling me something else? Signal too low.įrom what I have read I can safely ignore the CCM as this just controls auto recirculation so that leaves a faulty damper motor as the likely source of my problems. I was able to repair this by soldering in a new 10K thermister and that fault code is gone and VIDA shows the correct cabin temperature. I had a CCM code which was due to the usual broken thermister.
